Echelon : Player's Guide to Role Play

Welcome to the D&D in Echelon Server. The role play here is beginner friendly with limited options simplifying the game.

Lore :

Echelon - a world of Sword and Sorcery. Here roam the creatures that are featured as myths on Earth.

The world is in turmoil. It has been long since the Crown of the world is ownerless. The Sovereign who united the world and ruled for centuries has died of old age without leaving any heir .

Moreover, there's a Darkness looming over the world. Rumors of an evil Witchmaster are being whispered.

Demons from the endless layers of Abyss are appearing. The seals of the portals connecting the Mainland and the Abyss are weakening, allowing stronger Abyssal Creatures to pass with time. Moreover mana is being corrupted, demonizing the indigenous creatures .

With no one to govern, all the territories are on their own, creating their own militia to defend against the darkness.

You are transmigrated in this world from Earth. And you heard from a tavern that the "Vamp'Ire" village is recruiting young people in the village army.

How to play :

Here you will run solo or form a party to explore the open fantasy world or embark on epic quests.

The game focuses on storytelling, but you are not only the listener, you are part of the story. And the dice will help you along. You are one of the main characters in the story, you will decide how you look, how you act, what happens next etc . And the experience will scale up and down with collective creativity. There's no winning and losing.

Read the Basic Rules of D&D 5e , specially Chapter 7, 8 and 9 to know about using ability scores, level up and combat.

Create Character 

First thing first, you have to create your adventurer character and submit for approval. It's recommended to create your character with dndbeyond.com , it can be imported in discord and avrae bot can be used in gameplay.

You can also create character with fillable PDF 5e Character released from Wizards of the Coast or Google Sheet prepared by Avrae.

How to create role-play character for Echelon Server

There are 3 categories of how we would play.

• Main Campaign : The main storyline and a long term campaign. Highly dependent on the availability of players at scheduled time. Weekly Schedule.
• Special Campaigns and One Shots : Random depending on the availability of the DM.
• Post by Post RP : Can play anytime with other role players. In a tavern or in other places as you wish.

You have to role-play as your character , according to your class and background, personality traits, ideal, bonds, flaws etc. Based on your role-play posts, you will get RP-XP . The amount depends on your word count in the role-play post. These RP-XP will be converted to D&D-XP .

Game play mechanics : D&D 5e and Homebrew. Text based.

Combat :

Downtime Activities and Economy :

You can just role-play in taverns or play different bot games, hang around etc etc.

The server has its own economy system. You have to do some daily commands to earn money.

• Collecting role income

There's a server shop too where you can spend the money to buy the necessities.

Death and Penalty :

Dead characters will revive at the nearby settlement. But will lose 25% of the XP from current level and drop a random gear.
